What is windshield protection film?
Windshield protection film is a clear layer fitted to the outside of the windshield. It takes some of the wear from road debris before it reaches the glass. It is different from interior window tint. Auto Vos installs windshield protection film in Colorado Springs. We’ll check your glass and driving needs before recommending a product.

Protection film goes on the outside of the windshield
Clear protection film adheres to the outside of the windshield as a replaceable layer. It can help with road wear, but it cannot prevent every chip or crack.

What happens during installation?
Check the glass and product
Existing cracks or chips need assessment. The film must be suitable for the vehicle, visibility requirements and any relevant sensors.
Fit the exterior layer
The windshield is cleaned and the film is fitted to its outside surface using the method specified for that product.
Follow the wiper and care requirements
Exterior film encounters wipers, grit and weather. Its cleaning, inspection and replacement requirements are specific to the installed product.

Windshield protection film: questions and answers
Is windshield protection film the same as windshield tint?
No. Windshield protection film goes outside the glass to reduce some damage from debris. Windshield tint goes inside and is mainly used for solar control.
Does Auto Vos install windshield protection film?
Yes. We install exterior windshield protection film at our Colorado Springs studio. Send us your vehicle’s year, make and model, and tell us about any existing chips or cracks so we can discuss the work.
Can windshield film fix a chip or crack?
No. Existing chips and cracks need a glass-repair assessment before you consider film. Covering the damage does not repair it.
Will windshield protection film stop every rock chip?
No. A large or sharp impact can still damage the glass. The film is an extra layer of protection, not a guarantee against chips or cracks.
Will windshield film change my view through the glass?
Film quality, installation and wear can affect clarity. Ask about glare, haze and distortion for the exact product, and when worn film should be replaced.
Can I use my wipers with windshield film?
Follow the instructions for the installed film. Grit under the wiper blades can scratch an exterior film, so cleaning and blade condition matter.
Will windshield film affect my car’s cameras or sensors?
That needs to be checked for your model and the selected film. Tell us about cameras, sensors or other equipment around the windshield before choosing a product.
How long does windshield protection film last?
Wiper use, grit, weather and cleaning all cause wear. Ask us about the expected service life and replacement signs for the film quoted for your car.
How much does windshield protection film cost?
The cost depends on your vehicle, the film and any preparation the glass needs. Send us your year, make and model for a windshield protection film quote. We’ll explain the product, installation and price before you book.
Does windshield film have the same warranty as PPF?
No. Exterior windshield film has its own product terms. A paint protection film or window tint warranty does not automatically apply to it.
How do I get a quote and book?
Send us your car’s year, make and model and tell us what you’d like done. Photos help if there’s old film or paint damage. We’ll work out the price and available dates with you before booking; sending the form does not book an appointment.
What’s included in my quote, and what does the warranty cover?
Your quote should list the product, windows or panels covered, preparation, price and expected timing. Warranty coverage depends on the product and is separate from installation workmanship. Ask us for the written terms for your installation, including exclusions, registration and how to make a claim.

I'm a fairly obsessive person when it comes to my vehicles and I'd be very hard pressed to find flaws. Edges are well hidden and seams are near perfect. If Caleb can wrap a naked bike tank and the front bumper of a VA WRX this nicely, he can probably do most anything to perfection.
